Moses Gets a Second Chance!
posted March 23, 2011

Moses is a survivor! For the past five years Moses has been supporting his two siblings, his ailing mother and his sick grandmother with limited assistance from his neighbors and a couple of his teachers. Even with this responsibility, Moses scored well enough to enroll in Ndururumo High School for his form 1 year. Part way through last year Moses’ mother passed away, leaving him as head of the household. Due to his responsibilities at home and cost of his education, Moses had to leave school and work to care for his siblings. Now, with your assistance, Moses continues in school for another year and works towards his dream of becoming a dentist!
Thank you so much for your contribution to Moses’ education! A big thanks especially to Eileen and Dennis for each providing two months of tuition and to Laurent for providing a school uniform. Thank you all for your combined generosity!

Kamau Gets a Second Chance!
posted March 4, 2011

Thanks to your generous donation Kamau is able to attend a full year of school without worry that she will be sent home for lack of funds! This is a fear Kamau is very familiar with. Kamau’s father was attacked and injured two years ago making it impossible for him to work. He previously worked hard to provide the school with firewood in place of tuition. Due to lack of funds, Kamau was sent home several times in the last year. She missed so many days of school that she was not sure she would receive her certificate to attend Secondary School. Kamau stated her goal was to attend Njojo girls school and score higher marks than her sister, but her recent placement test scores were so high that she qualified for the National School in Kenya. This placement is almost unheard of for students with the attendance record that Kamau has experienced and will guarantee that she will be admitted to University if she is able to afford this.
Thank you all for providing a full year of schooling for Kamau! A big thanks to Jeffrey and Charlie for providing two months each! Thank you so much!
A big thank you to Laurent for providing Kamau’s uniform, as well! Thanks to your generosity, Kamau will attend school fully prepared and well clothed to enjoy a powerful learning experience. Thank you!

You have given Miracle a year of tuition!
posted January 3, 2011

Miracle gained his namesake when his single mother died during childbirth. He has been raised at the Hopeful Grandmothers Orphanage in Kenya and the grannies report that he has thrived from day one.
He is a curious child and can always be found taking apart any electronic device he can get his hands on. Miracle became interested in electronics when he realized that ‘the Grannies’ could make a phone call anywhere in the world from their rural village.
Miracle is pictured here starting Form 1 but will enroll for Form 2 starting January 2011 at Ndururumo High School. His dream is to become a “Computer Geek” as he puts it. Miracle believes that “technology will take humans to the next level” and he wants to be a part of that change.
Thank you William for assisting Miracle by giving him a year of tuition!

Cecilia can now attend Secondary School!
posted December 14, 2010

Your contribution to Cecilia’s education has made a world of difference. At 16 Cecilia has already missed the last year of her education because her mother could not afford to pay tuition.
When her father died in 2007, her mother, also sick with AIDS, took over care of their 7 children. Cecilia scored well in her exams to enter high school but when they could not pay tuition the school sent her home. Cecilia would like to help others once she finishes school paying forward your gift of her education.
Thank you Devon for your support!

Jane hopes to complete high school and attend college. As an adult Jane would like to work with other needy children giving them the same chances you have given her.
Thank you to James, Ray & Lael, Kandace, Tom S, Tom P, Trish, Alana, Brandon, Yannick, Dennis, Sterling & Melinda, and our anonymous friend for the gift of Jane’s education and to Chris for purchasing Jane’s uniform! You have truly made a difference.

Ann receives a new uniform!
posted November 12, 2010

In May we were able to pay for Ann’s Tuition at Njonjo High School in Kenya and your donation will ensure that Ann receives a new set of school uniforms as well. Students at Provincial schools in Kenya must have school uniforms in order to attend. The orphanages that support children like Ann have commented that having nice new uniforms helps the orphans feel better about themselves and more socially accepted amongst the other students at the boarding schools.
Thank you for supporting Ann!

Serah gets tuition and a uniform!
posted November 12, 2010

Thank you all for your wonderful support of Serah. Although this first year student at Njonjo High School has had a difficult history, she has dedicated herself to making a difference in her community. Serah scored among the highest in her Kenya Certificate for Primary Education exams.
In her spare time, she champions the VOICE of ORPHANS which is an HIV education program through the Hopeful Grandmothers Orphanage. This program uses drama and traditional dance to educate the community about HIV/AIDS focusing on youth education. To truly understand how impressive this is, you must understand that culturally a person can be shunned in Kenya if they admit association with someone who had AIDS. Serah has shown exceptional leadership skills and bravery amongst her peers. She plans to become a Minister of Health in Kenya.
Larry, Nancy, Margaret, Jennifer, Gleda, Kathleen, Ganesha and Andrew your combined efforts will ensure Serah’s tuition for the next year is paid in full at Njonjo High School. Mark your donation of the school uniform will allow Serah to attend school. Kenya Provincial schools require uniforms in order to attend. Thank you for your donation and you positive impact in Serah’s life!

Thanks for supporting Karimi’s uniform!
posted October 20, 2010

Earlier this year through generous supporters of SeeYourImpact, we were able to pay for Karimi’s first year of tuition at Ndururumo High School. Now thanks to Daniel’s donation we have been able to pay for Karimi’s school uniform as well! This support provides tremendous relief to the orphanage that took Karimi and his siblings after his father was shot. Karimi continues to focus on his goal to attend college and become an engineer.
Students are not allowed to attend schools in Kenya without a uniform. Daniel, thank you for your generous support of Karimi’s uniform!
