Thanks to your generous donation Kamau is able to attend a full year of school without worry that she will be sent home for lack of funds! This is a fear Kamau is very familiar with. Kamau’s father was attacked and injured two years ago making it impossible for him to work. He previously worked hard to provide the school with firewood in place of tuition. Due to lack of funds, Kamau was sent home several times in the last year. She missed so many days of school that she was not sure she would receive her certificate to attend Secondary School. Kamau stated her goal was to attend Njojo girls school and score higher marks than her sister, but her recent placement test scores were so high that she qualified for the National School in Kenya. This placement is almost unheard of for students with the attendance record that Kamau has experienced and will guarantee that she will be admitted to University if she is able to afford this.
Thank you all for providing a full year of schooling for Kamau! A big thanks to Jeffrey and Charlie for providing two months each! Thank you so much!
A big thank you to Laurent for providing Kamau’s uniform, as well! Thanks to your generosity, Kamau will attend school fully prepared and well clothed to enjoy a powerful learning experience. Thank you!
